Fighting Fantasy Video GamesHello, I'm here to help the FF revival not fail. One of the most recent signs of failure was the latest game for the Nintendo DS. When I saw there was a game available I thought great, I'll check it out. After reading a few horribly negative reviews and trying the game itself, I decided I shouldn't have touched it with a 10-foot pole. I don't know how or why this has come about, but it smacks of the the amateurishness of this whole FF revival thing. You might find that judgement harsh, but I've been reading FF since they originally came out and I want to see FF to be all it can be, in the modern world. Maybe it's just fans running the whole thing, but I find it hard to reconcile that adults could be so clueless about the business world.
So here's my suggestion. You have to trust me on this. Instead of the shambles that game turned out to be, this is what you need to do in future, to ensure a successful title that will appeal to gamers young and old. Get whoever was involved in the development to play through 'Castlevania: Symphony of the Night' on the PlayStation, 'Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin' and 'Castelvania: Order of Ecclesia' on the Nintendo DS. Substitute the monsters for FF monsters, adjust the weapons and magic to the FF world, make the protagonist relevant to FF and you have the format for an intensely enjoyable fighing RPG. Forget gimmicks and rehashes of old FF stories. I know it's hard, but I have to be cruel to be kind. Think of this as tough love. Because I do love FF and want to see it succeed.
Re: Fighting Fantasy Video Games
I was told what an Iphone is. I'm still stuck on what a Wii is and does. If FF comes out for ps3 I'll buy it. I caved in and bought another console, it's so much smaller than the first which was incredibly bulky.
Re: Fighting Fantasy Video GamesPip, your correct. FF for DS is a total failure. I got from the beginning already and i didn't even bother to finish it
