A Halfling, a Gnome, and an Orc are running away from the city guard in Port Blacksand when they come to a thick wood on the outskirts of the city. They each decide to hide by climbing a tree.

When the Troll Guardsmen arrive, they go to the first tree where the Halfling is hiding and shout, "We know you're up there, come down!"
The Halfling, thinking fast, says, "Tweet, tweet, tweet!"

The Guardsmen, thinking that it's a bird, move on to the next tree where the Gnome is hiding and once again shout, "We know you're up there, come down!"
The Gnome, thinking fast, says, "Whoo, whoo, whoo!"

The Guardsmen, thinking that it's an owl, move on to the next tree where the Orc is hiding and once again shout, "We know you're up there, come down!"
The Orc thinks for a while and then says, "Moo, moo, moo..."

Rumors of a new Archmage rising to power in the Old World continue to circulate across the Western Ocean...

Sargon the Black has been defeated at Kaad by the combined forces of Kadd and surrounding villages. The infamous adventurers' Jerek Stormgard, Axel Wolfric, Baradas Rangor, Gordo Brondwyn, Aspen Darkfire and Grimbold Tornhelm are rumoured to have been responsible for defeating the evil threat.

Anvar the Barbarian who was one of the player-chracters in Legend of Zagor was also the first ever D&D character that was created by Ian Livingstone in 1975!!!

Some of the characters illustrated in Deathtap Dungeon were drawn from photos taken by by Ian Livingstone, e.g. the old man in para 187, and the crowd and entrance illustration of the Background introduction.

This section contains a guide to the core Official Fighting Fantasy rules that are needed to play the amateur online Gamebooks. Use the rules to generate your SKILL, STAMINA and LUCK and determine SKILL, LUCK and ATTACK COMBAT rolls.

STAMINA

Your STAMINA score will change a lot during your adventure as you fight monsters and undertake arduous tasks. As you near your goal, your STAMINA level may be dangerously low and battles may be particularly risky, so be careful!

Your backpack contains enough Provisions for ten meals. You may rest and eat at any time except when engaged in Battle. Eating a meal, add 4 points to your STAMINA.

Remember also that your STAMINA score may never exceed its Inital value unless specifically instructed on a page.

LUCK

Additions to your LUCK score are awarded through the adventure when you have been particularly lucky. Details are given in the paragraphs of the adventure. Remember that, as with SKILL and STAMINA, your LUCK score may never exceed its initial value unless specifically instructed on a paragraph.
